18×24×1.5 inch mixed media painting on canvas.
This work is part of a larger study on daffodils. As I battle seasonal depression, the daffodil’s resilience to the dark and cold of winter reminds me that I can keep growing as well. I respect the way they’re designed to pop up through the dirt with their green leaves long before the rest of the world begins to show signs of spring. They’re a promise that spring is on its way.
